You should read this before playing

This game is unfinished. Apart from the lack of textures and animations, some mechanics are incomplete and poorly introduced, and there are game-breaking bugs that may prevent progressing. I decided to upload it because I thought that, despite its current state, the game manages to convey the ideas of my original concept.

You can read an explanation of the mechanics below, if you are confused on how to progress.

You must use Alt-F4 if you fall from the level, get caught or reach the end. Sorry.

Description

Scale Ring is a puzzle-stealth game where you must shift your size to avoid getting caught by bandits. When you are small, you are slower but can hide behind covers; when you are big, you can't hide that easily but are way more agile. Use your size to escape.

Story (Should I include this?)

The knight has managed to get to the treasure room of the dungeon, an enchanted ring awaiting an adventurer's arrival. When the knight puts on the ring, their size decreases. It seems that the water they were standing on, along with the power of the ring, caused this.

However, a group of bandits were following them to steal the treasure. With their new size-shifting powers, the knight must escape from the dungeon.

Mechanics explained

Player

Touching water (blue cubes) will make you small. Touching fire (red cubes) will make you big.

You will jump higher and run faster when you are big, so those big gaps should be cleared while being big. Remember that you can roll/dash in the air if the gaps seem too hard to clear.

You will be practically invisible behind covers when you are small. However, you will be seen if you leave cover and a bandit is looking in your direction.

You can spam roll/dash to move faster. Hey, that's a secret!

Bandits

There are two types of bandits: those who stay in place and those who patrol between set points.

If a bandit detects you  inside their vision cone, they will keep looking in your direction until you hide or get far enough. They will not catch you instantly, you will need to stay inside their vision cone for 3.5 seconds to lose; if they lose you, this time will reset.

They will leave their patrol area if they hear a creature making noise nearby (they should return to their initial position afterwards, but in the current state, only the bandits who move will do that).

Creatures

Those cute, round things will follow you when you are small. If they get too close, they will get excited and start making noise, which will attract nearby bandits. Move away fast if they suddenly stop moving when you are close.

They will run away with fear if you approach them while being big. Use this if one blocks your way.

The creatures should leave you alone if you go far away from them. However, there is a bug that makes every creature that has detected you try to follow you endlessly.
